A local DAR regent recognized at the annual News, Sports, Jobs conference



LOCK HAVEN – Chapter Regent, Diane Whitaker of Colonel Hugh White-Colonel John Chatham The Girls of the American Revolution attended the online portion of the 124th State PA DAR Conference held in Pittsburgh.

PA Host State Regent Beth Ann Watkins welcomed distinguished guest speaker Denise Doring Van Buren, General President of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

General President Van Buren gave the opening speech and thanked the PA girls for their work and dedication during the 2020 pandemic.

Col. Hugh White and Col. John Chatham received recognition for zero enrollment / abandonment in 2020.

Whitaker received a Certificate of Completion for Leadership Training – Membership Course.

New this year, Whitaker was recognized with a first place in the Education category for her outstanding freelance project completed in the Membership Course. His project was the writing of six lessons for beginning genealogists which were printed in the Lock Haven Express which reached thousands of subscribers at home and online.
