An exhibition featuring a vast collection of works by Grayson Perry received a boost when the renowned artist himself came to give it his seal of approval.
Grayson Perry: The pre-therapy years were due to land at the Sainsbury Center for Visual Arts in Norwich months ago, but like so many other things have been postponed due to coronavirus restrictions
It finally opened its doors last month and is scheduled to be on display until January 30, 2022, showcasing works from the formative years of his career, between 1982 and 1994.
And over the weekend, Mr. Perry took a trip down memory lane, visiting the SCVA to inspect the exhibit himself.
The bushy-haired star of the art world confessed that he had lost track of some of the works on display in the exhibition.

He said: “Some of the rooms that I hadn’t seen for a long time and I didn’t even know where they were.
“It tickles me just because they said so much about me at the time.”
And it wasn’t just his own work that dazzled the Art Club host as he toured the city, being amazed at the beauty of Norwich as well.
He said: “When I was here for my show I had a lovely walk around the city and was quite surprised to see Norwich now well preserved.
“I had never been to the Sainsbury center before this and it is amazing – what a fantastic gallery. It is obviously very well known but it should be more.”
Mr Perry had recently visited the beautiful city as part of a theatrical tour and also praised the public in Norwich.
He added: “It was a really good audience – pretty much the best audience on my tour.
“I mean really, they were really good. I don’t know if they were just drunk but they were really fun.”
The exhibit includes a variety of pieces from the early years of Mr. Perry’s career, largely consisting of clay, pottery and other ceramic artwork.
