FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) – Northwestern Allen County Schools (NACS) have announced that Kristy Cobbs, a physical education teacher at Cedar Canyon Elementary School, has been named Teacher of the Year INSHAPE for 2021.

“I’ve been teaching for about 20 years and I’m thrilled to have this award,” said Cobbs. “It shows the dedication and hard work not only of my students, but of the profession as well. It takes a lot to go the extra mile and it’s just something I’ve been doing for many years. It’s nice to be recognized for that.

She and other Teacher of the Year recipients from various categories will be recognized during a virtual INSHAPE Award celebration on November 8 at 6 p.m. at the INSHAPE conference which is historically held in Indianapolis. To attend the virtual celebration, click here.

Cobbs added that she planned to apply for consideration at the district level and potentially national recognition through the INSHAPE organization.
