Montgomery County Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping that occurred as a woman waited for her children to get off a school bus in Gaithersburg, Md.

Montgomery County Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping that occurred as a woman waited for her children to get off a school bus in Gaithersburg, Md.

Police responded to the 800 block of Marsh Street on Wednesday with reports of an attempted kidnapping that occurred at around 3:25 p.m.

A woman told officers at the scene that a blue sedan with two men inside pulled up in front of her as she waited on Raven Avenue for her children to get off the school bus, police said.

She told police that a man got out of the passenger side of the vehicle and grabbed the woman’s arm, trying to pull her into the back seat of the sedan.

The woman was able to escape and run to another passing vehicle for help, police said.

The suspect returned to the car, climbed into the front passenger seat, and the vehicle sped towards rue Girard.

The suspect is described as a bald black man, about 6 feet tall, with an average build. He was wearing a red jacket.

The victim described the driver of the sedan as a bald black man in his mid-thirties.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the suspects or the incident to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
