Slash say that GUNS N ‘ROSES has yet to start writing any new tracks after recently releasing two reworked songs from the “Chinese democracy”1st sessions.

Last month the guitarist and his comrades gave up “Hard school”, which came more than a month after their performance and the subsequent official release of “Absurd”, a redesign of GUNS N ‘ROSES unpublished “Silkworms”.

Slash, which promotes the next “4” album of his solo group SLASH WITH MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS, discussed the status of the new GUNS N ‘ROSES music while talking to host Audacy Check In Remy Maxwell.

“As much as new FIRE ARMS is concerned, we haven’t even gotten to that point of really sitting down and writing, ”he said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “We’ve done a lot of material that’s been sort of sitting down for a while. So it’s going to be a concentrated effort in and of itself.”

As to how “Hard school” and “Absurd” came about, Slash said: “They both have a lot of history. What happened was Axis [Rose, GUNS singer] has all these songs he recorded at some point along the way. And so Duff [McKagan, GUNS bassist] and I went in and I did them again, basically… Like, I wrote my own kind of parts about what else is going on, and [we]I kind of took the drums and did everything else. “

Written by Pink and co-produced by Pink and Caram Costanzo, “Hard school”, which bore the provisional title “Jackie Chan”, was originally recorded during GN’R‘s “Chinese democracy” era, but was ultimately omitted from this album. Short clips of the song were later uploaded and a full version leaked in August 2019.

At “Hard school”, Axis sings: “But you had to play it cool, you had to do it your way / Had to be a jerk, you had to throw it all away / School too hard and you thought you were here to stay / If that was true, it would be it doesn’t matter anyway. “

“Hard school” is the title song of a new GUNS N ‘ROSES Four-song EP to be released on February 25, 2022. The Effort, which is exclusive to GUNS N ‘ROSES official store, contains the two new songs the band released in the last two months – “Hard school” and “Absurd” (stylized as “ABSUIDE”) – as well as live versions of “Do not Cry” and “You are crazy”.

“Hard school” List of songs from the EP:

01. Hard school

02. ABSUD

03. Do not Cry (Live)

04. You are crazy (Live)

“Absurd” released on August 6, three days later GUNS N ‘ROSES performed the song live for the first time during her concert at Fenway Park in Boston.

GUNS N ‘ROSES last performance “Silkworms”, which would also have been written during the “Chinese democracy” sessions, in 2001.

If and when this happens, the new GUNS N ‘ROSES studio album will be the first under the FIRE ARMS banner from “Chinese democracy” and the first to appear Pink, Slash and McKagan since 1993.
