“The Natural World” on display at the Solano City Center Gallery

FAIRFIELD – “The Natural World” continues through October 30 at the downtown Solano Gallery, 1350 Travis Blvd.

It presents a collection of photographs, acrylic, oil and watercolor paintings, quilling on paper, ceramics, woodcarvings, mixed media and jewelry.

There are two featured artists: photographer JT Whittaker and watercolor artist Misuk Goltz.

There is a silent art auction featuring Goltz’s artwork. The auction will end with the final auction at 6 p.m. on October 22.

Proceeds from the auction will be used for the 58th Annual Fairfield-Suisun Visual Arts Association Art Show and the 6th Annual Solano County High School Student Art Show.

Whittaker fell in love with the beauty of nature, from the vast landscapes to the smallest plants and creatures. He joined the Fairfield-Suisun Visual Arts Association to have an outlet for his works.

His photography was influenced by Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Brett Weston (all photographers) and Eyvind Earle, a painter.

Goltz began painting in watercolors in 2009. Since then she has become a master artist, winning numerous awards and exhibiting her work in several galleries and at private exhibitions across the country.

His painting was influenced by Winslow Homer, Andrew Wyeth, Mary Whyte, Jose Zbukvic, and Yim Mau-Kun. She attributes her success to her husband, who supported her interest in art and her belief that she would become a great artist.

Goltz joined the Aerodrome-Suisun Visual Arts Association in 2019. His works can be viewed at www.mgoltz1951.wixsite.com/my-site-1.

The opening hours of the gallery are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday.
